Stokes Litter Tie-In System
The Tie-In System, by CMC, allows first responders to quickly and easily secure a patient to a Stokes Litter. This is especially useful in backcountry situations where the terrain makes traditional patient transport impossible. This new system replaces the time consuming and error prone method that was formerly used.

LUCAS CPR Device
The LUCAS CPR Device is an automated CPR system that delivers chest compressions to a patient. Traditional CPR requires the providers to switch every two minutes to prevent fatigue. The LUCAS Device allows paramedics to attend to other aspects of the rescue without having to administer the compressions themselves. This is especially beneficial when a rescue is being performed in a rural area where long and difficult transport is needed.

Aeroclave Decontamination System
The COVID-19 pandemic created an entirely new set of challenges for paramedics, not least of which was preventing cross-contamination of first-responders and patients. The solution came in the form of a compact, reliable, and reusable device known as the Aeroclave. The device connects to the air filtration system of an ambulance and disperses a decontamination aerosol throughout the vehicle. The treatment takes only a few minutes, which allows the crews to minimize the vehicle’s down time.

Kubota RTV with Skid Pump
In 2020 the Rescue 1 Foundation purchased a Kubota 1120G-H 4x4 Residential Utility Vehicle to be used in remote areas that cannot be accessed by full sized trucks. The vehicle is outfitted with a litter for rescue operations and can be configured with a skid pump to provide water during prescribed burns. Its small size also allows it to be transported via trailer and can be deployed in a rapid reaction situation.

Remote Automatic Weather Station (RAWS)
Catastrophic wildfire is one of the greatest dangers to the communities of Moraga and Orinda. Real-time weather data is a critical tool, which allows the Fire District to prepare for such an event. Developed by Forest Technology Systems, the RAWS monitors wind, humidity, moisture content, and other factors. This information is used by fire managers to monitor local conditions and fuels in order to predict fire behavior.

Stryker Emergency Patient Transport
Designed to make transporting patients safer and easier, the Stryker battery powered gurneys allow paramedics to load and unload patients quickly with less risk. The hydraulic system raises and lowers the gurney with a simple press of a button and the retractable head section allows for maneuverability in tight spaces.

DJI Inspire v2 Drone
In 2016 the Fire Chief was looking for a low-cost tool to help the district’s aerial monitoring of fire conditions, fuel load in remote areas, and search-and-rescue operations. The solution came in the form of a DJI Inspire v2 drone. Compact and easy to operate, the drone has been used in multiple operations, such as monitoring controlled burns.
